About

¡Hola! Welcome to La Chamba! La Chamba is a blog dedicated to Latinx professionals, laborers and creatives who are making waves and redefining the definition of work and leadership. Through personal narratives, interviews and curated articles and resources, this blog aims to inspire, motivate and support YOU! Though this blog is managed and produced by me, Sandra Lopez, the content is not solely about myself and my personal experiences. I want this blog to be a resource for you when it comes to finding a job, navigating work spaces and relationships, and all of the grey areas in between. Dreams, fears, finances.. nothing is off the table, so let’s get to work!

About me: My name is Sandra Lopez, and I am second generation Mexican-Guatemalan creative. I consider myself a “creative” rather than a writer or an artist, as it more closely defines my interests in all forms of self- expression. I recently moved from NYC to Chicago, where I now work in communications and marketing at a gallery on the northside. I received a BFA in Art History, Theory and Criticism from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, with goals to continue my education in the future.

On a personal note– I love middle distance running. I try to journal or read during my hour-long commutes to and from work, and I believe in the power of story-telling in shaping a more just and equitable society.
